Elected best player of the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup, Cássio, the giant of the alvinegra meta, will complete 100 games with the shirt of the Sport Club Corinthians Paulista on the night of Wednesday (19), when Timão faces the Fair Bahia, in Feira de Santana-BA, for the premiere of the Brazil Cup 2014.
Cássio's first match by the Corinthians was played on 28 March 2013 against the XV of Piracicaba, in the Pacaembu stadium, in a match valid for Paulistão. At that time, the goalkeeper already demonstrated what Faithful would watch in the following games. The archer made great defenses, including two on top of the line and in the same bid, and helped secure the win by 1 to 0.
Born June 6, 1987, in Veranópolis-RS, Cássio Ramos went through Grêmio and PSV Eindhoven, Holland, before being hired by Timão in December 2011. In only 100 games, the goalkeeper has made history in the Corinthians. The 12th shirt was one of the heroes of the undefeated title of Liberators and the achievements of the FIFA World Club Bi, the 2013 Paulistão and the South American Recopa.
LIBERATORS
In 2012, Cássio suffered only two goals. One of his greatest performances was in the match back in the quarterfinals of Liberators. In the second half, Diego Souza, who worked for Vasco, came face to face with the goalkeeper and kicked in the corner. With much reflex and speed, the 12-shirt managed to spread the ball and save Timão from the goal in Pacaembu.
FIFA CLUB WORLD
At the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan, Al Ahly and Chelsea were unable to overcome it. Against the English team, Cássio closed the goal and held incredible defenses. The Alvinegro archer was one of the major players in the world title and was crowned with the Golden Ball prize of the tournament. Their defenses remain eternal in the memory of Faithful and the whole world.
