The left side Vinicius Fininho is practically unknown to most Brazilians, but an untimely gesture nine years ago brought him into the history of one of the largest clubs in the country. In the match against Sampaio Correa, in 2005, the athlete revealed by Corinthians himself lifted the middle finger for the Alvinegra fans who cursed him in Pacaembu.
After that, Fininho was punished by the Alvinegra board and ended up running for other clubs in Brazil until arriving in Ukraine, where he played for a long time at Metalist. The side is now back in Brazil and will defend Madureira, from Rio de Janeiro, which is in the third division of the Brazilian Championship.
In an interview with UOL Sport, Fininho credited the offensive gesture to the crowd as a fruit of immaturity – he had just left the base team for the professional. According to him, his relationship with the Corinthian crowd remained friendly after that day, even though his career was forever marked by the episode.
" After I left the Corinthians, I really saw how big [the club] is, when you're out, you see better some things and then I took it into my life", said the side.
The coach at the time was Tite, who years later would lead the club to be world champion. The vice president of football was Andrés Sanches.
"The crowd caught on to me, it wasn't the whole stadium, it was isolated, in the social part. When you're young you're immature, and ripens with the blows of life," said the athlete. Remembering that game, he said that in the break he went to complain to Tite about the cheers, and the coach told him to get back on the field and play for the team. "At the time I was a little hot, had a short fuse and was a little new to me. Then when I came back, Tite took me out in the second half and the crowd kept picking on me. And then what happened."
After that, the player was much criticized by fans and advisors and was removed from the cast. He was still involved in another out-of-field controversy when participating in a fight in a nightclub in São Paulo. It's over.

He passed through Victoria, Youth and Figueirense, Russia and Ukraine. At the Metalist he became third in the national championship.
With a knee injury, he needed surgery and decided to return to Brazil. He tried to act for Goiás and Atlético Sorocaba (SP), but his physical problems prevented a hit. "I never had a history of injury. That knee thing was a really hard hit. I didn't expect to stand around. Sometimes it crossed my mind to give up because sometimes there is a downside," Finho recognized.
His arrival at Madureira is an attempt to resume his career, although the time he stood still may hinder an immediate start. "My main focus is getting really in shape and playing in high performance," he said.
