President Mário Gobbi dismissed an interim technician for the Corinthians in January 2015. After saying that Timão would remain throughout the first month of the year without a new coach, since Mano Menezes' contract ends in December and the presidential election is scheduled for February, the agent treated the option as unfeasible and said he will try to meet with the candidates for office to reach a consensus on the commander for the next season.
In front of the Corinthians since February 2015, Gobbi said he would renew with Mano if he had another year in office. If opponents do not want dialogue with representatives of the situation, the president will seek a solution only with Roberto de Andrade, a candidate supported by him, to project the next months.
– If I were to be president another year, Mano's contract (Menezes) would already be renewed. The Corinthians will enter the Liberators, by all means. I can't leave the club without coach because it starts in January. Going with an interim and then the president naming is out of the question. The Corinthians must have a technician as soon as the group re-presents. What I'm going to do is listen to all three candidates, and if you have a consensus, that's it. If not, I will meet with my group, Roberto (de Andrade), Andrés (Sanchez), and some more, and we will close the name that comes out. Then we will have the new technician – he said, in an interview with Radio Globo.

Internally, Corinthians' opposition has not been willing to debate the club's course next season. So far, Roberto de Andrade and Ilmar Schiavenato are the confirmed presidential candidates for the election. It is not yet known whether Paulo Garcia or Antonio Roque Citadini will occupy a seat in the election. The choice will take place on February 7th.
