Corinthians' debt as far as Arena Corinthians is concerned is still very high. According to President Roberto de Andrade, the values are approaching R$ One billion.
In an interview with Globo Esportivo, from Rádio Globo, the agent revealed that, with interest, the debt with the National Bank of Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and Caixa Econômica Federal, revolves around R$ 985 million.
"R$ 985 million. I don't know exactly about interest. It comes at the end, an hour arrives," he said. "We dreamed of the stadium, it came true. Now we have to pay him. I hope Brazil gets better. If that happens, the fan will help push us. When we get the rent, it'll be every game you see: R$ 2 million and little for the club", completed.
Roberto also revealed conversations with companies in order to find the Arena's naming rights. The agent blamed the "situation of the country" to explain the delay in closing partnership in this sense.
"There are conversations. We've already sat with dozens of companies, presented the project, it's time-consuming stuff, it's usually multinational... One hour it'll close. It has a lot of open front," he revealed.
" Things will get better slowly. The country has to get better first. Today the companies are retreating on investments. Corinthians is the most visible club for any advertiser. Last Wednesday's game (against Palmeiras) was over 40 points in Rede Globo. There are millions of people watching, the product is good, companies know that. But the economy of the country has reduced the budgets of companies." It's over.
