Mauro Cezar on Carille: ‘He did nothing near what Sampaoli did in Santos’

Commentator Mauro Cezar Pereira, known for his acid comments throughout his career, caused controversy once again. This time to talk about the statement by Fábio Carille about Jorge Sampaoli, coach of Santos – click here and see.

For Mauro, Coach Alvinegro was bad at words. The commentator states that Sampaoli did something that no Brazilian coach could do in Brazilian football. The journalist forgets, however, that the alvinegro commander's work in 2017 resulted in the fifth round of Paulistão, when Timão with one less won the rival Palmeiras, in Itaquera, Jô's goal in epic play.

"What he (Carille) said, I totally disagree. Who plays like Sampaoli's team? You keep the ball, you hit it all the time. Quickly, exchange of passes...", started Mauro.

"There is a work synchronisation in a short working time. Neither he Carille nor his Brazilian peers did anything similar in such a short time. He did excellent work in 2017, but neither he nor anyone else did anything like it," the commentator added.

Finally, Mauro Cezar criticized Carille’s generalization of journalists. The commentator took advantage to poke the Brazilian football coaches.

" And when he says 'you' he's generalizing. There's a lot of reporters who don't even follow outside football, but there are a lot of technicians who don't seem to have seen it either. I think when he generalizes he talks nonsense, but what Sampaoli does in Brazil is yes new," he concluded.
