Olé celebrates veto to William after reporting case; The Ball Reacts

The Argentine newspaper "Olé" published again after denouncing the case of William and Anvisa in fact suspend the debut of the half Corinthian, this Sunday (12), before the Atlético-GO.

" In one of the many arguments that were raised in defense of Argentina, William appeared. The Brazilian arrived from the Arsenal of London and as if nothing had started with the paperwork to join the Corinthians. Hugs with his father, official presentation at the club and other things, when he had also arrived from England a few days ago...", says excerpt from the new publication of Olé.

"According to the ordinances published in the Official Gazette of the Union of 23 June, all people of Great Britain and therefore of England have their free entry into Brazil restricted. But there is an exception for the natives. And William, being Brazilian, would have no impediment, except to undergo quarantine, which he did not do, according to the agents," says another excerpt.

The Portuguese newspaper "A Bola" also published this Sunday on the veto of Anvisa a Willian. The Corinthians, in turn, published official note protesting the decision (see below).

The Sport Club Corinthians Paulista clarifies that, in compliance with Anvisa's ordinance 655/21 (which deals with restrictions on entry into Brazil of people from the United Kingdom), the athlete Willian will not go to the field for this Sunday's match in Goiania, against Atlético-GO.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the club has always complied with the health rules imposed by different health authorities, even if some of them have been confused. Therefore, it will fulfill without objection the role of diffuser of the measures of Ordinance 655/21.

However, the Corinthians reserves the right to protest regarding the unequal treatment provided by the agency, as recognized by the Agency itself in the last paragraphs of the announcement about the athlete Willian, issued on Saturday (11).

The club expects Anvisa and the other public agencies that make up the system to better guide travelers, athletes or not, and monitor them equally and clearly, seeking to achieve the goal of the ordinance, which is to preserve lives, avoiding unwanted speculation and misinformation.
