João Victor's choice for his 38 shirt at Benfica (POR) has had a great impact on Portugal, especially among the fans of his new team.
In an interview with the official channel of the Portuguese club, former defender Corinthians explains that number 38 was chosen to honor Benfica's next national title. That's a lot of faith, isn't it?
" I'm prepared to help Benfica win national titles again. My shirt number, 38, is to celebrate the 38th title Benfica can win. I chose on purpose," explains João.
The defender also commented on its main features. "My main features are the speed, I have good ball exit for the attack and good head game. The other features will improve to get better", he concluded.
The Corinthians will receive eight million euros (R$ 44 million in the current quotation) for 55% of the athlete's rights.
