The goalkeeper Cassio lives one of his worst moments with the Corinthians shirt. In the 1–0 defeat against the Junior Argentine reserves, the Corinthian goalkeeper made a strong outburst that reflected even outside the country. The defender even indicated he could leave the club if he's the problem.
Another goalkeeper of the Corinthians, three champions of the Paulista Championship (1997, 1999 and 2001) and two champions of the Brazilian Championship (1998 and 1999), Maurício, strongly criticized the goalkeeper Cassio.
In interview for the UOL, Maurício stated that he was never a fan of the goalkeeper Cassio and quoted goalkeeper Walter, who according to him was much better than the current starting goalkeeper of Corinthians. Maurício also mentioned that the Carlos Miguel reserve is a much better goalkeeper than the giant and deserves to be the holder of the People's Team.
"I was never a fan of Cassio. Since Walter was there, I thought Walter was a thousand times better than Cassio, and I think everything has its time, Carlos Miguel is much better.", commented.
The controversy of the former Corinthians goalkeeper was to state that Cássio "was never a good goalie", who only had his moments because the team was fine.
"Cassio is not a good goalie, I think he's too slow, he won't get out of the goal. You had your good times, but because the team was fine too. It takes penalty, that's true, but Carlos Miguel needs a series of games, I'm sure he's much better.", completed.
